I have the Radio Shack Pro 96 Scanner. In the Owners manual it says if you press 0 then text when the scanner starts up on the welcome screen it goes to the DSP factory tests. what does that mean?

I then tried to do it . I pressed 0 then text when i turned on the scanner and got this message:

Factory DSP Test Code
Enter if Yes
Clr to exit

If pressed Enter it says:

DSP Test FM
868.5125 10 u
11chz@3.6 khz
press enter

If I press enter it then says:
DSP Test 1
freq/amp 1
Failure
clr to exit.

what does that mean? why does it say that?

I have the lastes cpu 1.4 installed.

thanks Joe

I'll hazard a guess. This test mode is designed for use in the factory when connected to a calibrated test signal generator. When nothing is connected, you get a failure because the scanner doesn't see the necessary test signal on its input.
