Is this a NextEdge (is that the correct name? I am not up on Kenwood products) or DMR radio? I don’t believe they are interchangeable.

The 5000 series can do 3 of the 4 modes at a time:

Analog (always)
NXDN
DMR
P25

You have to pick the combo. To get a dual and radio you have one control head and 2 RF decks. There is an interface kit.

Not cheap but by all accounts a great commercial radio series.

Looked at the MD-9600 real hard and best I can tell it is not "dual receive" and thus only has one speaker jack in the rear.

Other than the Kenwood, what you want doesn’t exist yet.
