Hey guys..

I'm working on a new scan list for Durham Fire...but I don't listen to them very often to know the in-and-outs of the system. Because you can only scan 10 channels on a Moto, I'm trying to figure out exactly which channels should be part of the list. Obviously there's the dispatch channels (Oshawa/Whitby and Pickering/Ajax) but I'm not sure how many of the tac channels are used.

Any help would be appreciated!

Sorry to revive such an ancient topic, but hopefully my contribution isn't too late..

Pickering seems to do 99% of its comms on PTAC 2. Ajax is on ATAC 1. I believe the "dispatch channels" are mainly for alerting the stations initially.

This comes from ~5 days of Unitrunker observations last week. I happen to have files saved including a lot of radios having been identified and hit counts for radios and talkgroups. They were generated using the latest version of Unitrunker, but should be readable by a human (and are fairly easily converted to comma-separated-values for import into a spreadsheet).

If you or anyone else wants them, let me know!

I'll throw my T88 onto the Durham system (assuming I can hear the CC from my place) and let it ride for a week or two. I'd like to have them in as well, but again the scanlist thing...

You have a Spectra do you not? They'll do 15+1 in a scanlist, as will as XTS3000/Astro Saber.

Here's my 401D system from Unitrunker. It shouldn't be too hard to hand-wrangle into a format that other programs use. If anyone has issues, I can make it a series of CSV files and/or an OpenOffice or Excel spreadsheet.

Heh! Actually I spent a weekend at Mosport in Clarington, and a week in the southwest corner of Whitby at a friend's place. Had a fun time.

Yeah, Durham is deaf as a door knob at my place...an IFR hooked up to a rood antenna is only showing a VERY slight signal above the noise floor.

I'll see if I can do some monitoring out that way on wed/thurs.
