Just taking a shot in the dark here, but is it possible it beeps because all memory was lost when you reset it? Is the SD card installed?

I, very unfortunately, sold my DV1, so I downloaded the manual to see if I could give you a hand. If I remember correctly, pressing the VFO (not VHF I am assuming) all that does is toggle between the two VFOs. If you know the memory channel, while in VFO mode enter the two digit bank number and the two digit memory number, ie. 00-01 for bank 0 and memory #1

Pressing the VFO button toggles the active VFO.

If both VFOs have the same settings (as they do after a reset) the only difference you will see on the screen is that the VFO indication letter (centre left A and B on the display) will swap position and this might not be immediately obvious.

If it does actaully require a repair then it's quite likley it will have to go back to Japan. Since AOR shut down their UK operation the service (and quality of the receivers) took a huge step backwards.

Hi,
The AR-DV1 is an excellent receiver, but unfortunately it is not so intuitive to operate/configure.
I have attached a video by Andreas (M0FXB) on how to set a memory channel (see link below).

You need to try and understand the basics first and then perhaps along with the manual things may start to make some sense.
The AR data editor is also quite good for setting up memory channels (see link below).

I hope this may be of some help.
