Heard some brief testing by who I assume are the radio techs. on TG 1002,, Radio 3067038 and one other,, didn't catch it though. Didn't hear anything that gave away what the TG was for.

Gotta keep an eye on the neighbor/adjacent lists. Those are populated by adding them in to the system database so they can be nonexistent and still be announced. When it shows failed it meant it didn't have a link back to the main controller.

Thanks for clarifying that Wayne. I long suspected this was also the case with site 303 on the Oakland P25 system, which was reported in the neighbor lists with a cc of 852.1125 (licensed to the FS 28 site near Chabot). Nothing heard on that frequency for more than a year, so I was pretty sure they just entered it into the zone controller software and forgot about it. :)

Back on topic...

Hey inigo88... where did the Walnut Creek PD 7605 talkgroup come from? Do you have any information on this TG such as radio IDs associated w/ Walnut Creek... or??

We got a valid submission on it. It sounds like WCPD hasn't rolled over yet but it's pending, so you should see some activity soon. No idea about the radio IDs, keep an eye on Pro96Com. :)

New TG Testing Today

I heard some testing of what sounds like mutual aid talk groups this morning on ALCO SW (perhaps on East Simulcast as well). They ID the channels too...which is helpful :)

1002 channel 1
1003 channel 2
1004 channel 3
1005 channel 4
1006 channel 5

radio ids heard on the above: 3010012 (dispatch console- this number changed with the channel numbers), 3045007. On one test on channel one, ALCO called CoCo County and the coco id was : 4010000. These channels will probably get heavy use for the upcoming Urban Shield which starts this weekend.

These tgs are being heard this morning on ALCO NW with what sounds like Urban Shield traffic: check-ins for out-of-town agencies, etc. A control callsign on 1005 was "Site 23" at one point.

What do you think would be a good interim name for these until they can be confirmed? I don't think ch 1 thru 5 is going to cut it in the db. Can you guys elaborate on the type of traffic heard? Strictly mutual aid in ALCO? Strictly law enforcement? We already have "LAW 1" and "LAW 2" in ALCO it seems, so I'm curious what these could be? (ALCO M/A 1 thru 5?)

Everything on the channel 1-5 I've heard has been related to Urban Shield. I haven't heard anything that would point to it being mutual aid channels yet. It's mostly admin traffic. I could guess they're possibly OES channels. I will say at 1 point I was in possession of a radio that had simply 1 channel programmed, marked as being Urban Shield (it was abbreviated to fit the radio display). Take it for what it's worth as I am a newcomer here but I'd almost suggest a temporary entry for urban shield and watch to see if these TG's aren't re assigned later for more every day official use.
TG 3309 has also been used for Urban Shield at the College scenario. My understanding is Livermore PD is running that scenario. It's only radio traffic for the scenario so no word as to what they're actually calling the TG.

results of 4 hours long recording - Sat AM 0830-1230

I can only get the CoCoCo sites from my location.

TG1002, 1003, 1004, and 1006 all heard just giving arrival times, departure times for other agencies taking part in Urban Shield. 1006 was the most active with 98 transmissions in the 4 hour period.Did hear comments about not using radios since they were issued cell phones with GPS trackers to monitor unit locations. All these heard on the CoCoCentral Simul site.

Heard no other TGs other than those listed in radio Ref DB;

6305 (Richmond Fire) with 47 trans
7715 (CCSO East) with 192
7712 (CCSO Cent) with 205
7726 (CCSO West) with 141

A few minutes ago, as they were winding up Urban Shield, I heard someone say to "be sure to return your radios to OES". And since these seem to be command channels (OES to field locations), I would list them as "OES Command 1" etc. I guess we'll know more about these next year when the old system is shut down and all disaster/major event traffic will be on this system.

TGs 1001 - 1006

I can't hear the ALCO sites but the CoCo transmissions on 100X channels all sounded like either OES or some local folks serving as disaster test coordinators. Temporarily until other traffic is heard on these channels OES CMD or OES COORD would be a good start.

Radio testing today on ALCO NW

TG 3005 ID'd as ch 1
TG 3006 ID'd as ch 2

male using two radios 3098001 (ID'd as portable) and 3098077 (ID'd as car radio) talking to a female using radio 3087055 (ID'd as console)

Testing coverage in the Posey and Webster Street tubes in Alameda.

Also several males screwing around for lack of a better term testing on TG 10007, using 2 or 3 different dispatch consoles, ALCO SW site.

I dunno, I doubt it. The radio traffic really sounded like it was between two individuals driving, so being on the extenders wouldn't make too much sense. I have seen no further affiliation from TG 1007

4256057 TG: 1007 DT: 6/7/12@9:04
4256073 TG: 1007 DT: 6/10/12@9:34
4182009 TG: 1007 DT: 6/10/12@8:12
4182007 TG: 1007 DT: 6/10/12@8:11
4169063 TG: 1007 DT: 6/10/12@7:55
4256021 TG: 1007 DT: 6/10/12@7:55
4169027 TG: 1007 DT: 6/10/12@7:47
4169055 TG: 1007 DT: 6/10/12@7:47
4169112 TG: 1007 DT: 6/10/12@6:42
4182026 TG: 1007 DT: 6/10/12@11:12
4256050 TG: 1007 DT: 6/10/12@10:35
3189001 TG: 1007 DT: 3/7/12@15:27
4077001 TG: 1007 DT: 3/1/12@9:51
1 TG: 1007 DT: 3/1/12@9:32

Here's what Pro96com has in its logs for 1007 - hits seems to come from a large number of RadioID prefixes, including 407 (CoCoSD), 416, 418, 425, 403. The Radio IDs are unique to TG 1007 - I don't have them logged on any other TGs. Curiously, Radio ID 1 I have logged onto 1007 back in March. Perhaps 1007 is related to the techs??

In a related note, my second Pro 197 arrived today and is all set up. This means I'll be able to dedicate one of the 197s to Pro96com logging full time...

Just looking back through some old posts since we have a great deal of radios and talkgroups confirmed and this TG 1007 caught my attention.

Looks like several agencies affiliated with it.

El Cerrito
Livermore
Contra Costa

Haven't heard anything lately, but maybe it's some mutual aid TG or something?

I am hearing what appears to be another Livermore PD talkgroup today. It is 3309. It sounds like it is being used for a special detail at the Paragon Outlets grand opening.

Yes, it has been active for several days now. I did submit this to the DB admin as Livermore Police Ch. 5. They may have another name for it, but we do know it belongs to LPD.
