Spring is here and the wildlfire season is in full swing. The heavy winds in the Ednonton area are not helping. Fires in Strathcona, Leduc, Sturgeon, Lac Ste.Anne and Parkland Counties. Parkland again refusing to go to the Paul Band (Duffield) reserve because of liability concerns.

Edmonton area fires

Listening to surrounding Edmonton area county radio communications all active today dealing with brush or grass fires. Most fires were put out or under control quickly

Strathcona county seem to be the most active. Crews are running from one brush/grass fire to another pretty much non-stop all day today.

Sturgeon county busy

Parkland county busy, mainly western end of the county

Leduc county, seems they spend most of dispatch time looking for there crews then dispatching fire calls

St. Albert, In there own little world, not much going on.

Athabasca very busy earlier today dealing with a large fire, sounds like its under control right now.

City of Edmonton, not that many calls today, I only heard 4 calls today

Fire season is here for some and just around the corner for others.

I have finally figured out the County of Parkland channel layout. Channels 1 to 4 are exactly as in the database. Channel 5 is 417.6625 Tone 91.5 on the Glory Hills site. It took a STARS call to Devon yesterday to figure it out. STARS was calling on what they had a Tac 4 but were coming up on Tac 5 Glory Hills.

Spruce Grove Fire I don't believe has a channel number but is as it shows in the data base. The vehicle repeaters (407.2375 and 408.9375) are most likely marked as such. 407.2375 often rebroadcasts RCMP B5 for the Parkland Patrol guys for joint operations.
