I am aware of someone who has spent a lot of tax $$ on their encryption system. Its not going to be defeated easily by a scanner

. Governments all over the world have spy agencies with huge budgets and lots of hardware just to crack encryption, these people are not stupid they are experts and they need these type of tools just to make a realistic attempt. Modern systems such as AES are not going to be cracked by someone playing on a computer in the basement.
To decode an encrypted transmission you need to know both the key and how it is encrypted. Without either of these your stopped. I agree this is not the proper forum to discuss encryption. If anyone is really really interested in the topic... start a new thread in the right forums. Some of us will be happy to go over the basics. NO you wont be able to decrypt anything but at least you will learn what encryption is and basically how it works. And why those in the know say its not going to be easy to bypass.
As far as facebook etc is concerned its typical internet bunk. Not only would someone need to figure out how to bypass the encryption they would also need to figure out how to decompile the firmware, write the new code into the firmware recompile the firmware add the right header so the scanner would accept the update and then compress it to the format the scanner processor wants to see.
