Enter Lock ?

Greetings,

I have just upgraded from a bc80xlt to a bc296d (Big step)and am in the process of programming it. I am having a problem storing found talkgroups.
page 59-60 of the manual says while id searching press hold/man to hold the tg then press transfr. When i do that i get a beep and it displays "enter lock". I have checked the system menu and made sure the enter lock is set to off. I also have made sure the keypad lock is set to off. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

I have also heard that the stock antenna that comes with this is not that great, and I have to say that the digital reception is pretty bad here. and i am in central Mesa AZ (very digital) any suggestions on a good replacement antenna.

The Screen Mask being turned on was the cause of the enter lock error when trying to store the talk group.
