I just started setting up my receiver, and am unable to set it to hold on the transmission while scanning. It resumes the scan after 1 second. I have resume time set to HOLD but it doesn't hold. Is there another setting that I'm missing? Pushing the dial A just displays Scan Speed, Prio Intvl and Resume time (which is presently set to hold). Any advice would be welcome - thanks!

If you just turn that dial, without pushing it in, there is an adjustable "pause" setting.
Don't depress Dial A, just rotate it until it says Hold. Your display should show Pause Time when you just rotate dial A.
The resume time setting you see when you depress Dial A is the same as a delay like on a scanner so set that to something like 2 seconds and the 8600 should resume your scan 2 seconds after the signal drops. If you set the Resume Time to Hold, the 8600 will never resume scanning.
