Entergy P25 LA/AR/MS/TX needs further mapping

The thing with New Caney and Dayton is that:
1. They are about 10 miles apart
2. CC listed for each is the same (because they were guessed and neither monitored direct)
3. New Caney license (WQVU297) is a complete subset of Dayton license (WNYR757)
4. I can't imagine them using re-using any freq from the New Caney license on the Dayton site given the close proximity (direct peer)

Given that 1.77 and 1.94 had listed 1.81 (856.7875) as a peer, it is most likely that 1.81 is New Caney based upon New Caney's proximity to 1.77 and 1.94, and that even though 1.85 could be Dayton it wouldn't be Dayton based upon CC-856.7875 - but other criteria might make 1.85 Dayton with some other freqs as CCs.

Glad to hear you are up for the challenge, especially of the LA sites!

Luckily every site I’ve run into lately advertises the BSI on the voice channel(s) fairly often so it should be easy enough to verify once in range. Entergy doesn’t make it easy at most sites down here with 60+ frequencies licensed at each site. That’s what I learned when I mapped out the old Moto system many years ago.

Made the I-10 trip east of Houston, got Dayton, Raywood, High Island, Gilchrist, Beaumont, Kountze and Bridge City along the way. Pretty routine stuff except for Gilchrist. I monitored it by itself for 20 minutes or so while driving, with a decent continuous signal, and it never advertised a BSI or secondary CC. I did note a couple of registrations, but no VOICE/DATA/BSI/SCC at all at this time.

I updated the map. Thanks for your continued sleuthing! The interesting thing about Entergy is that you never know if/when a site is online, if it was online and is now offline because of a catastrophe, etc. So much havoc down in Entergy land during any given year with tornadoes and floods and crazy stuff that it's likely that one or more Entergy sites is offline at any given time because of damage.

I think you nailed all three.

1.42 ? peer of #.##, 1.15, 1.41, 1.44, 1.58, 1.66, (and now 1.69)

- two different sites with same peers

I keep a separate file that has:
a. peers for a given site, as reported by that site's CC (when available)
b. peers for a given site, based upon what other sites have reported that site as a peer (good for sites in which we never got direct data from CC)

Gets confusing fast.
