Freescan: error loading new group to BCD325P2

I've downloaded a system from RR. I've assigned quick keys to the system and the groups.
I copied one of the groups and edited and renamed the copy eliminating TIDs that I am not interested in, locking out other TIDs. When I try to upload the system with the new group I get to a certain point when Freescan starts to error out with the message "unable to store TGID, COMMS error or scanner out of memory SLCoLocal" (where SLCoLocal is the name of the new group). I've only used 1% of memory, loading a total of one system with 16 groups, including the new group that I created. Freescan aborts the load after the 26th error message. Sure enough, when I look at what was loaded, the last 26 channels of the new group are not installed. The missing channels are ones that were in the original group I downloaded from RR.
Can anyone tell me why this is happening? Is this a Freescan problem or a BCD325P2 problem?

How many TGIDs total do you have before trying to upload SLCoLocal. How many TGIDs are in your SLCoLocal group?
To add slightly, are you trying to load too many groups in the system? The limit for the 325P2 You are limited to no more than 20 groups, and no more than 500 talkgroups per trunked system.

there are 526 TGIDs in the 16 groups.
You're over the TGiD limit, which is 500 per system.

Can you post a copy of your file?

You'll need to use Windows File explorer to locate your file, then "zip" (compress) the file so that you can attach it to a post.

Also, One thing that I've run across with FreeSCAN several times in the past, is that if FreeSCAN is not correctly identifying the scanner, you may get the 'out of memory" error.

You can split up your talkgroups by creating one or more additional 'systems' in FreeSCAN. You likely do not have 500 (or more) talkgroups all using the same site, Take a given site, and only program the talkgroups that use that site (like for a specific county). In another system, program a different site, such as another adjacent or nearby county, and enter the talkgroups related to that site.

YES! That error message was due to the fact that I exceeded the 500 channel limit in the system. Problem solved. Thanks again.
Glad you got it resolved. As I previously suggested, you could create one or more additional systems for monitoring, each additional “system” with one (or more) different sites.

You could have a ‘base’ system, with the sites and talkgroups associated with your home county. One, or more, additional systems using the sites in one or more neighboring counties along with the TGIDs used in the areas related to the sites.

You can, of course, assign each of these systems a separate quick key, so that you can toggle ‘out of range’ sites on or off, depending on where you are in your specific region.
