My new $43 Eton Elite Executive has arrived today from eBay, and here are my first impressions upon unboxing it:
1. Nice box and packaging
2. Brown “leather” cover looks better in pics and videos than in person
3. Cover is basically useless
4. Receiver itself looks and feels very nice
5. Sound from speaker is nothing to write home about
6. Instruction manual is easy to follow and written in actual English 🙂🙂🙂
7. Build quality is very nice, but not as nice as my Tecsun PL-660 or Qodosen DX-286
8. Setup, setting clock, etc., is easy and straightforward 🙂🙂🙂
I’ll use it for a bit and post further observations. For now, though, regardless of how well it turns out to perform for me as a radio receiver, I will say this: if I had paid the $130 these are still going for on Amazon, I’d be pissed. It’s definitely not worth that.
