Hi, I just recently bought an ex LAPD Radio from eBay, assuming it was bought at an auction, It's a Motorola XTS-5000 with LAPD Engraving, if anyone could personally message me about further questions that'd be great.

I didn't know that they were being auctioned off. I was under the impression that under the contract that Motorola would take all of the old radios back to prevent them from being sold as surplus. Interesting that you got one have you checked to see if it's stolen?

They are not...it is more then likely stolen....

Hello Sir..... If you purchased the Model-2 XTS-5000 that is engraved LA SPACE then PD.... This is not an LAPD Radio as we had Model-3's... If you did purchase a Model-3, please Call Me at 213-486-0328 or my cell listed above..I can assist...

Hello Sir..... If you purchased the Model-2 XTS-5000 that is engraved LA SPACE then PD.... This is not an LAPD Radio as we had Model-3's...

Spot on. Pretty sure it was one of these:

I wonder if the seller engraved these.

Judging by the screenshots in his other listings, he also has no idea how LAPD or LAcoFD radios are set up,

It's not an LAPD or Port of LA radio, it's prob a movie property case...

I have not got a response from the individual who said they purchased the radio....
