Ok, here is my install on an F-350 4X4 with crew cab. This is my work vehicle and used in LE ops, so I'll have to sanitize the exterior photos before I can post them. All radio programming includes everything printed in NIFOG V1.3

Good clean and I esp like that everything is in order of the frequency range for easy finding of what you want/need access to.

How about some details on how the DC power and ignition control were done? This is an area
where many installs get into trouble.

Next question, where did you mount all the speakers?

Last question, how did you mount all the antennas to prevent blowing out the receiver front ends?

Like the neat install we can see.

DC Power - Two 60 amp circuits on #2 wires direct from each battery to Power Post Single Terminal Connectors from West Marine with 3 radios per circuit. Grounding uses #2 wires from the same type post terminals direct to the frame. Both terminal posts are wired under the cup holders for easy access to the fuses for servicing. All are wired hot with no ignition sense. Install is 3 years old with no power issues from the alternator, batteries are replaced every 18 months.

Speakers - Two external speakers for the Motorola XTL5000's all other radios use the internal speakers. No audio issues with the dash mount radios.

Antennas - All antennas are mounted with 20 inch separations.

Photos - More photos of antennas and DC power distribution will be added tomorrow afternoon.

I have been eagerly awaiting some F-350 installs on here. This gives me a couple great ideas as to what I can do with my '07 F350 crew cab. Thanks for posting!

That's a hell of a console brotha! Please tell me the Agency footed the bill for you-or at least kicked in some? Yours is a very high quality LE issue rack compared to some that I have seen! Great job!

Ok, here are some photos:

The last photo shows front to back antenna arrangement, low band is an AM/FM disguise by Sti-Co. Antennas on the cap are just there for weather proofing the NMO mounts and are changed out for different interoperability missions using a ICRI patch device with different radios in the rear or Futurecom Repeater. The vehicle and all equipment were funded by a UASI grant, no fluff here, functional equipment used on a daily basis.

Some ask why use quarter wave antennas? These are my daily use antennas and allow the greatest flexibility in frequency range without the need of changing antennas. I have 1/2 and 5/8 antennas cut for various frequencies when working fringe areas or needed penetration into buildings for coverage issues. This is not a surveillance vehicle but a support vehicle.

Thanks for the replies:

Looks good, but why are you using a cup holder to hold the siren/pa mic? Now where am I supposed to put my drink?? Now you just need some P25 radios in there for V/U ops...
