Fatal Fire in Portland

One minute after arrival, Eng. 14 ordered a 2nd alarm at 02:39 for a house fire at 4519 NE 15th Ave. This group home housed about 12 people. Most escaped with minor injuries, but 2 people were found on the 2nd floor. Firefighters carried them out, but efforts to revive them were unsuccessful.

UPDATE:
Portland Fire & Rescue Investigators, working at the fire scene since early Wednesday morning (1-17-07), have determined that improper wiring caused the fire.
