More updates....

AWIN reband license mods out the rear this week. I will have to go through and see if they are just way behind or I need to do changes to sites.

And City of Batesville PD lic:

WQVR896
155.2575 FB2
155.9400 FB2
Looking like going NXDN guys.

Also looking like Baptist Hospital Arkadelphia is about to join the city in going DMR.

I'm glad that you (apparently) got it working and you're able to monitor everything there now.
What is the slot / color code / talk group for dispatch?

Oh wait never mind... I just found my notes from my visit up that way a few weeks ago. Since poppafred verified that 155.070 is indeed the dispatch channel for Franklin County SO, I can submit the info to the database.

As far as Batesville PD is concerned being NXDN... if they're unencrypted, I'm ready for 'em! I'll let you know what I hear. They may not necessarily be on the air quite yet... they're not mandated to make the split with Independence County SO until June 1.

Doesn't surprise me. The local radio shop guy is a Kenwood dealer and likes Nexedge. Guess I will be in the market for a nice used Nexedge HT now... :D

EDIT: After looking at the license it doesn't look like they used the local guy. A North LR address is listed as contact.

If so, make sure it is 12.5 KHz and not 6.25KHz. According to the data on their FCC license, it has an emission code of 8K30F1E, which is wideband 12.5 kHz. Many of the NEXEDGE HTs are narrow band...

But, seriously, why pay hundreds of dollars for a NEXEDGE HT when you can use a $25 SDR dongle and a computer running SDR# and DSD+?

Because it's not exactly easy to take that portable everyday...

I bought one of the dongles...still don't have it up and running, though. Been way too busy and it's somewhat complicated, it seems.

Yes, Baptist Arkadelphia has gone full-time DMR on their repeater. I have submitted a database update.

TY for update. Kinda figured they would real fast. Most of the ones in AR that add the emission usually go that way pretty quickly. How much of the SO is still analog?

Usually, yes but not always... Yell County SO is licensed for DMR, yet I've never heard them using that emission mode.... only NFM. Maybe they were planning on it but the money had to be reallocated for something more urgent.

Same with Lawrence County, They are licensed for NexEdge and Motorola Turbo but all I've heard them on is NFM Mode...

I passed through Van Buren County this afternoon and made some intercepts of the Sheriff's Department on its dispatch channel... MotoTurbo/DMR but it's unencrypted. I reported the update to the database. I also found an active, unreported frequency (in the RR files) which is in the FCC database for City of Fairfield Bay on 154.9725, also using DMR. Fairfield Bay has a police department but I didn't hear any voice traffic on the channel, only data bursts. So unfortunately I cannot verify if it is the PD or not. I'll listen again my next time through a few weeks from now.

Milf,

Sorry I haven't been on here for several days. The best I an tell, Clark County Sheriff only uses their DMR system for tactical, they still use their 3 analog channels for most routine traffic.
