Feed Setup

Below is a shot of the Washburn County Fire & EMS and Northwest Wisconsin Emergency Ops feed computers.


I have two dedicated Dell GX280s hooked up to one KVM switch. Regulated DC power supply and also have everything on battery backup units.

The top radio is an old ham radio used for the Fire & EMS Feed. That computer also handles the page to text software for the county departments (the thing that detects the fire tones, and emails 30 seconds of the page to everyone's phones).

The bottom is an old RadioShack analog scanner running the NW Ops feed.

It's called TwoToneDetect. I have been using the old version for years with some problems with the ScannerCast software, howver, the new Python version is working flawlessly. It's a great program.

TV Antennas. One pointed to Duluth, one pointed to Minneapolis, and the third towards Eau Claire. Scanner antenna is below them.

Ding ding ding...once TV went digital, we lost pretty good reception with just the one.
