To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

@niceguy71 This morning I tried activating ANL and/or AINR along with NR which still showed no NB.
I've read posts elsewhere from users that have had the same thing happen after a RESET. I've told Luiton about it.
I would have put big money on pushing the ANL button twice would get NB and ANL indicators to show on the display.....
thank God I'm not a gambler!

Really looking forward to the on-air testing on this one. It's so small that it's the first radio of this type that I'm considering putting in my car. I haven't had a 10-11-12 meter radio in about two decades so I'm curious as to how things have changed.

I received an email from Luiton this morning regarding the NB issue.
They gave me a link to watch a video showing operation. It was the video from Eric at Farpoint Farms. His radio also lost NB after a reset but he didn't mention it. Obviously they don't really understand what I was asking about, or they simply don't care.
Thanks for that Luiton. :rolleyes::ROFLMAO:

they are from China and the translation loses a lot.
they use an A.I. program to try to understand what you want and then A.I. the response to you... your lucky you didn't get a recipe for noodles.

Aquário RP-70 Mini AM/FM/SSB

Approximately 5” x 1” x 4”

7W AM/FM & 15W SSB
Hi-Cut & NRC

M0OGY Review

Speculation began about a year ago.

— Would need an RM Italy KL503 or 203 amp to be competitive with radios currently available.
No WX

$399 has been bandied about. With shipping, tariff plus speaker, an amp & miscellaneous, this looks $$$$

— What I don’t at all care for is the required lack of front panel controls to adjust on the fly. In mobile it’s not feasible to look more than 1X, as 2X while at speed is pushing boundaries too hard. And, no, you don’t have more experience or are better at such than I.

I’d want RFG & SQ easily modified.

— As Skip starts to be less of a factor this isn’t as critical as it is today. From 0400 till past sunset one is changing this for maximum signal capture ahead of rural vs metro conditions. Pulling off the road becomes necessity.

Rumors of mini contenders exist. I see this one as the prototype against which they’ll be judged.

I’m not alone desiring detachable faceplate configuration as it solves the mount/space problem.

But . . . this one fits in the palm of the hand.

.
thanks SlowMover for finding this cool little SSB radio... I know everyone is excited to see what it can do.

Range test video is up:

One thing I took note of was the clarity on QT60 RX on Luiton TX power level 1 & 2 VS power level 3. 1 & 2 sound better. 3 Sounds compressed like there's less data coming through. Some of that may be in the QT60 Pro and how it processes the signal.

LOTS more noise on receive with the mag mount. Permanent mount with the FT-240-61 toroid ring with 12 turns of coax was very quiet. My HID Xenon headlights RF noise could still be heard at times but overall much less noise from surrounding environment.

The Luiton seems capable of more range than I did in the video. Still clear at 8.5 miles with some mountains between mobile and base.
I'm betting the ground wave would make it over the next big mountain range and be received in the town of Old Fort 16 miles from the base station.

I loved the range test of it, maybe it's just me.. but I like to actually see what a system is capable of..... that tells how the overall system is.

I know many will say, one day you may only get a mile and the next day you may get 10 miles....
but to me, this shows what it's capable of... I have talked with many new people that put a CB in and could only get 2.5 to 3 miles after several tests on several different days in a months times... I plead with them to try the Stryker SR-A10 ... if they do it generally doubles that range on a good day.... then I plead with them to try one of the easily modified $69.99 Radioddity radios that do 10 watts and has NRC ... again it greatly improves the performance .... with the right equipment a CB can work pretty well.

8.5 miles is quite a ways away... ( at my age I couldn't walk it anymore ) having a good base station and a few friends in the neighborhood with decent mobile units can truly be an effective neighborhood watch.... or SHTF communication system.

but without a range test no one knows what's possible!

if your bored another day...... repeat the range test using FM .. it would be interesting

thanks for the video,

GREAT JOB!!!

Another M61 at transceiver behind the permanent mobile ; or the above (mine has 500k miles on it); or the larger, heavier (better) MyAntennas equivalent.

At the antenna for TX
At the transceiver for RX

Treat both ends

I swear by mine.... one on those Palomar coax filters on the base and one on the mobile...... night and day difference.....

same with the electronic noise eliminator.... it's also a game changer.... there is always some noise even if it's coming from a car near you.... before I had that electronic noise eliminator I could drive down the street and pick up noise... now it's always quiet even if a car next to me has LED lights and is using the windshield wiper and A/C motor.... great equipment available today and cheap

I had all but given up on cb. Im 54, have used cb since the early 80's and always kept one. My aluminum Ford truck coupled with never hearing anything anymore as it appeared all truckers had abandoned cb had me to relegate cb to a President Randy 3 handheld in my console. Pulling it out occasionally on the highway to not hear anything so it has lived quietly in my console. But this radio (Luiton sdr 310) has caused me to try 1 more time. As now I will have 10/11/12 meters (I have a ham license) and ssb. I just ordered one, currently have a vhf/uhf/dmr mobile in my truck with a small mag mount using magnets under the 3rd brake light. I have considered the larson 3rd brake light antenna mount but not for its ridiculous price, but I just found a 3rd brake light "light bar" mount for $89 bucks. So all is orderd and on the way. Will run it with a President Virginia Antenna to keep my truck from looking completely ridiculous, I ran one of those antennas when it was called the "New York" and it is very capable. Compared it to a Wilson little wil I had been using and performance difference was nominal, if any at all. So I will still keep my current radio in my truck but also have cb/ssb/hf capabilities back alongside it. I hope the new truck drivers will see the value of the old cb. Realtime road info is invaluable.

the third brake light bars /CB antenna mounts don't work.... lot of guys try them... they are too far above the cab and not enough contact with the cab to get a ground plane... they do great to put a magnetic light on them.... but a CB antenna doesn't work with them.

just curious you do know that a handheld like your Randy will not work inside of a vehicle? being inside of a vehicle is like being inside a Faraday cage.... no signals get in or out of the metal box around you... I have had friends hang out the window with their handhelds trying to contact me on road trips... even then it's only good for 100 feet.

not a lot of CB out there ... not like the old days..... but I talk to people daily.... but I have a powerful CB and a big antenna......a really good install ( wired directly to the battery and grounded to the cab ) will cut out a lot of noise and give enough clean power to work, as long as you have a really great antenna... you really need a 5 foot tall antenna in the center of the roof... with the Aluminum Ford, best you can do is a permanent mount drilling a hole in the roof..... but if you're not really into the hobby a hole is a big deal for most people..... just an idea.... the Stryker SR-A10 magnetic mount antenna works very good.... when you buy the Stryker it comes with a huge steel washer for people that have aluminum roofs... you glue the steel washer under the aluminum roof and then stick the magnetic antenna on the roof above the washer... they say it holds pretty good... A magnetic C
B antenna utilizes capacitive coupling from the magnet and that will work with the aluminum body of the Ford and make a great ground plane as long as it has the steel washer under the roof.

hope everything works out for you
