Use Winamp as the player. It takes a minute or two for it to catch up, but it will display the alpha tags on the Title line.

I got the attenuator activated on the DC Fire radio and it's working fine now. We installed a rooftop antenna and began to suffer from intermod.

No change. Plus it's very quiet in general - is this just dispatch or are the fireground talkgroups in there too?

Originally you said you would be using Fedora...

What was your original reasoning for this and why did you migrate to XP?

Integration and remote management reasons. Multiple darkice instances had problems with the USB core functionality in the Kernel. XP allows us to run ScannerCast as well, which after the new year will be the default broadcaster for all RR broadcasted feeds.

I listened to the DC feeds a few hours last night [and will probably do so again tonight]. It sounds perfect. Very nice setup.

That's great news. Peter has done a helluva job with it, implementing [or planning implementation] of nearly everything we've all requested. Of course the auto-config for RR streaming is the best feature.

It's very quiet because the EMS channels are locked out. Otherwise you would never hear a fire.

Is there anyway that the scanner cast developers could make it compatible with mac?

I could use virtual machine, but that would be too tedious.

Ok, the DC Fire Feed has been fixed and sounds fantastic. PG Fire/EMS was fixed as well (no audio) so we're looking good.

We need to make some updates to the DCA Airport feed since we're not getting good reception of the tower yet, but that is coming.

Enjoy!

Hate to sound pessimistic ;) but not yet. I might say it's better than yesterday, but still much more garble than voice.

Lindsay if you could answer this....

the sound cards you bought do not say compatible with mac on the ebay listing but ones that appear identical to it say they ARE compatible, but have been from different sellers.

...so are they? :p
