Anyone ever hear them on aircraft band? I found the following info:

NOTE - The code name "FLYNET" indicates that an aircraft is transporting a nuclear emergency team or a disaster control team to the location of a potential or actual nuclear accident or an accident involving chemical agents or hazardous materials. It is in the public interest that they reach their destination as rapidly as possible.

Sounds like something we might want to keep an ear out for!

I don't think it is meant to be a radio call sign, but rather a code word used in the notes field of the flight plan.

I believe it is a radio callsign like "lifeguard."

According to FAAO JO 7110.65, Para 9-2-6, FLYNET.

Have I ever heard it? No, but I also cannot think of a significant enough Nuclear incident to warrant such a team.

What is funny is Lufthansa uses the name Flynet for its in-flight internet service.

Thanks for the link to the FAA Special Ops page. It is really interesting.
There is mention of "preasure suit flights" including ones conducted in the B-57... This aircraft designator threw me so I had to look it up.... Who knew the Canberra was still flying? NASA - B-57 Still Going Strong at 59
