I hear a lot of constant static on 125.1, 142.0375, 229.35, 458.7, 484.7625, 495.1875.

On 239.275 I hear the following repeating automated broadcast: “National Training Center, information hotel weather at 1855 Zulu automated observation, wind 320 at 20 visibility niner, few clouds at 347, temperature 17, dewpoint -8, altimeter 3003 advise on initial contact information hotel”

When I try to program 30-90 as my custom search limits, my scanner says “out of band” How do I do it?

It may be limited to something like 30-54MHz, many scanners will not do much above 60MHz for VHF lo.

It could be. I tried scanning 134.1 but I couldn’t hear anything. Perhaps I’m too far away.

I heard more constant static on 36.49, 41.7, 46.915, and 52.125.

I’ve been out here since 3/21/2025 and I haven’t heard the blue once, but the white comes in fine.

Try “Blue 1” that is a repeated channel, but it isn’t used very much. Typically only if there is a failure of the Copper or White channels or for special events.

That's the NTC airfield automated weather and airfield info. Pilots are required to tune that in prior to landing so they're aware of any conditions that might affect their use of the field, such as "Taxi way Charlie is closed".
