Forum "NEXT" button desired

Several views of the threads in the forums run for many pages ("Today's Posts" for example currently has 7 pages) The navigation section on the bottom right has the page numbers and a larger "Last" button, but no larger "NEXT" button. Navigating page to page would be easier with a NEXT button, as the individual page #s are small. Many other non-RR forums use this feature.
Has this been considered?

The ">" after the page numbers is NEXT (and the "<" before the first page # is PREVIOUS).

I thought the ">" just got you to more pages.
