Freescan & 396xt

When using Freescan for Uniden 396T& 396XT I get an error message saying the program I am using is not for the 396XT.

If I read the disclaimer the program supports the XT model.

I am using the serial port connector.

Any suggestions.

Did you configure the scanner first? How to set up the port on the scanner is detailed in the Easier to Read guide, or in the FreeScan User guide, see the 'Making the Connection' article
