Hi, not sure if this has been discussed, but I would like to know if you can use Freescan via a android tablet...preferably the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 with a USB cable adapter. Let me know or if you are a user, let me know HOW. Thanks MRS
It seems that there is an Iphone app, but I am an Android owner, and thus, do not know what it does. I am fairly certain, however, that it (the iphone app) does not require prolific/serial drivers. My android, does have drivers compatible with many serial interfaces including the Aten UC-232, i know this for a fact, as i use it every day. What does the iphone app do, and can it be duplicated for android.
I think I understand that the iphone app, Freescan Remote, controls the freescan application, running on a pc, and streams audio and info back to the iphone. Would the original developer be interested in releasing details such as source code, since he has no intention of writing Android software? Also, since serial interface drivers for at least one usb/rs232 adapter is included in Android, the source could possibly be ported to android.
I know this is a late reply, but I have created an unofficial Android app (RemoteFS) to remote control Freescan. It does not stream audio, but all other control functions should work. Search for it on Google Play or find it here:
