As of February 1, National EMS will take over ambulance service for Clarke and Oconee Counties. They presently have contracts with Rockdale and Morgan Counties.
When looking at the Rockdale and Morgan databases, it looks as if their respective 911 systems dispatch the National EMS crews through the public safety radio system.
At present, both Athens hospitals dispatch their own ambulances on their own frequencies, not the 911 dispatchers through the county radio system. Anyone heard how the new crews will be dispatched?
Thanks.
