Anyone have frequencies used by the Ice Breakers on the St. Clair River? I normally monitor the Coast Guard but typically hear the helicopers, never the Ice Breakers.

Thanks!

I copied these from Boatnerd.com but not sure how much they are used as I have never listened closely to them & I don't have a radio to handle 232.100.

Coast Guard
157.175 - St. Clair
157.050 - Port Huron/ Belle Isle
157.125 - Sarnia Ont.
157.150 - Detroit group

More likely they might be using AG 101 - 167.1125 P25 but many times what I hear around the great lakes they are encrypted, Essexville Saginaw river station where I am near, use AG 102 - 167.625 P25 with Essexville station in the clear and personnel are encrypted.
See at the bottom here where I put these in https://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?aid=5608 - Just updated it, to add the tones.
See https://wiki.radioreference.com/ind...rd#VHF_Canadian_Border_Area_Regional_Channels

Side note the helos use 412.925 CG-407 but are often encrypted.

Definitely put in the Coast Guard channels and also, VTS Sarnia if you don't already have them programmed.

156.550 - Sarnia traffic (ch.11) from Huron Cut to St.Clair Crib Light.
156.600 - Sarnia traffic (ch.12) from Detroit River Light to St. Clair Crib.
156.650 - Sarnia traffic (ch.13) back up for ch. 11 + 12

With the recent Ice jam there were a lot of bridge to bridge comm's between Ice Breakers and ships in ice convoys. The Ice Breakers also checked in with Sarnia traffic frequently. At night they suspended activities for safety, hope this helps out, it was very active listening a couple weeks ago, and all in the clear.
