TRX-1: Frozen Screen

I can not shut of my TRZ=1 unless |I pull a battery or unplug from laptop.The screen shows the following.
Up Boot Ver F1.3 up app Ver none
CPU SW Upgrade:3
Waiting for USB
I have tred every thing I can think of to turn it off but every time I try the screen stay frozen.
Any ideas on what to do

Your scanner has lost the CPU firmware. Save the attached zipped file to your computer and extract. Connect your scanner and run the extracted CPU updater file.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I think I'm following all of the steps and still no luck and the scanner won't shut off...lol

Which scanner do you have and what exactly do you see on the display?
