When Davis County cities, towns, etc were ordering 800 MHz radios,
Fruit Heights only ordered ONE. I have never seen a TG listed for Fruit Heights,
so I can't imagine what they could be using a 30 watt xmtr for.

I heard Kaysville CERT Net on 155.535 last night at 21:00 hrs local. (Thats Nine O'clock in the evening here.) There was some talk after the net about Kaysville and Fruit Heights coverage and someone was asking about reprogramming their VHF radios to work on the UCAN system. THere was some doubt that that could be done.
I was able to hear the Base unit as he did rollcall, but I did not hear all the other units. I don't remember if it was Simplex or repeater. I'll listen more closely next week.

It's licensed to Kaysville as simplex (WNFU440), and the fact that you only heard the base confirms that (unless it was a repeater input). Did you get a tone?

Ah, Fruit Heights brings back fond memories. My grandparents lived there near the mountain and I loved to visit. I drove the new highway through there last month on the way to Snow Basin but didn't have time to go by the old place...

I did not get/hear any tones. I was able to hear the base uniot and about half the "mobiles".
When the conversation shifted to the UCAN info, I started talking to the radio, and my girlfriend asked why I didn't just use my radio to tell them. I told her they probably would not like me breaking in on thier freq that way.

Anyone aware of any other CERT groups in the area?
