A member reported they are no longer able to monitory Ft. Bliss and the control channel has disapeared. They said they can hear activity in the 380-400Mhz range. Can anyone nearby search for the new control channel and log it they system?

Thanks!

You might also post on the New Mexico forum as a lot of range work north of the base in New Mexico ... The Ft. Bliss Training Center complex (ranges) runs well into New Mexico.

Bill, thanks for the idea. The report that Ft. Bliss changed came from a NM thread and the member said the could no longer hear any control channels in the 400mhz range and was now hearing P25 comms in the 380-400 range. We now know that WSMR changed systems along with Holloman AFB so I'm wondering if the base moved off of WSMR system and is now on their own. We know of an unlogged site on the WSMR P25 system but nobody has been able to identify it yet.

Erik - wish I could help, but only go that direction once every ~3 years to the Cloudcroft, NM area and lots of action on the MIL-AIR bands at Holloman aircraft heading for McGregor Range, etc..Did they perhaps move to the larger DOD Network? If I hear anything will advise..

Thanks! I was hoping someone was down in that neck of the woods and could pass along the info. I'm almost guessing that they might have moved to a larger DOD network but until we can see the system ID, I'm stuck guessing at this point.

I go as far as Carlsbad for work out here. I doubt I can get anything over the mountains but it’s worth a shot next time.

Yeah, I'm sure that will be too far to pick it up. However, NM is supposed to be building out their state wide system in Eddy county. The next time you head that way, do a search in the 700mhz bnad and see if there is anything new!
