Fort Collins woman hurt in crash
Intersection of CR 11, Serramonte Road closed

A Fort Collins woman was injured this morning in an accident on County Road 11 and Serramonte Road, north of Fort Collins. The intersection remained closed at noon but was expected to reopen by 1 p.m.
The accident occurred just after 10 a.m. when Karen Furst, driving northbound on County Road 11, crossed the center lane in her 2002 Acura and sideswiped a cement truck traveling southbound. Furst lost control of her car, ran off the right side of the road and the car flipped, according to Fort Collins police Community Service Officer Randy Robinson.
Furst had to be extricated from the car and was taken to Poudre Valley Hospital. The driver of the cement truck, Oliver Parrott, 53, of Loveland, was not hurt.
Robinson said police are investigating whether prescription drugs may have been a factor in the crash. Furst faces possible charges of careless driving, Robinson said.
Furst and Parrott were wearing seat belts.
