• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Im thinking so

Just loaded it into my test radio and read the codeplug. Seeing a couple new options such as a
SFR mention under digital common - basic down at the bottom has a SFR auto select thresh hold and offset options. Was told SFR will be added to H series so perhaps in the next FW that will be seen
Full encrypt - private - Hyteras version of AES (Paid upgrade)
Full encrypt - standard - standard version of AES (Paid upgrade)
TTS (Assume text to speech Paid Upgrade)
Under a digital channel i see a grey out box that says Access protection type and access protection key...wonder if thats hyteras version of RAS
For mixed mode under digital channel seems you can select if you want the radio to transmit back in digital or analog too when the mix receive is checked for each channel

This update was alot larger file then previous so i think it loaded a bunch of new goodies in just have to wait for a new CPS to see what they are

Would be great if they would include a damn log with what has been updated and changed but NOPE!

The 'bug' on the HP605 is still there. CPS 3.1.09.19 allows the backlight to be turned on with on-air activity for HP605s on V2 firmware but not on V3.0 or 3.1.20.006. Its only timed or off for V3.
(I also had a weird upgrade process where I had to select my language and region (5), never had to do that before)

I do wonder on SFR, it can't be possible to add 'true' SFR without duplex capable hardware (or this is how it worked in V9 days). Are they going to add new hardware models? Or come up with some kind of pseudo-SFR, perhaps with more latency than the PD985 and MD785-full-duplex (a sort of store and forward).
I was a bit surprised to see any SFR reappear, as the only current lines that are capable of doing SFR is the E-packs. Anyway, just some random thoughts.
Its a bit odd for a company that really brought SFR to the current 'mass market' to have all but abandoned it. Now there seem to be quite a few companies that at least have some kind of approximation to SFR.
Perhaps we will actually see full duplex return?!

Found an issue with the scan in this release. Iv got 3 channels in auto scan. An ops channel repeater DMR, Tac channel simplex DMR and a paging channel simplex analog. When scan is on everything comes thru all garbled and cant hear a thing anyone is saying. Take scan off and problem solved works fine n dandy. Turn scan back on again and back to complete garble. If you dont use scan then no problem

Sent a video of this up the chain of command so should be fixed in a future release

I find alot of issues with new release, document it and send it to HQ and hope they add a fix to it.
The voice announcement on the H series from day 1 when we had some demo radios they never had an option to adjust that volume level it was fixed at whatever the current volume was at so inside a vehicle with the volume at 5 the voice announcement was insanely loud to the point you couldnt even use it. In the 3.0 fw they JUST fixed it. All they needed to do was add a drop down box like they did with the MD/PD series. So that took forever to be fixed

HQ says july 31 should be a new fw dropping to address some wideband issue and a couple other little things
