• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

the Hoosier state, baby.
Sounds like the site you’re monitoring rolled to a new control channel. Make sure to put in all the control channels for a given site so you can avoid this happening.
Site 1-071/1-47 Richmond’s primary CC 853.1125 is functioning like normal on my scanners. And for clarification, I did fix the issue pertaining to this post. Thank you for the input, though. That is something to always consider happening.

Lesson learned: Don’t put non-OEM equipment on a device you don’t want bricked. 😆

I have Unication G4, sometimes I switch the stock antenna with Motorola APX 800MHz antenna, and it fits perfectly.

I've tried the Kenwood option as it's interface is as close to unication sma, however I don't see a big difference in fringe reception, maybe 1 bar at times but nothing consistent.

I asked Ray at Ray's pagers and he stated that the stock unication antenna was disected by someone and revealed a chip inside, so in reality, this is one time the stock antenna does what it's supposed to.

How to open back case of Unication like this? I have unscrew all of screws in the back of Unication G5, but I don’t have any idea how to open the back case.
Once you get all those screws out you, need to pry the back off with a very thin yet strong spudger like a guitar pick or dedicated tool. Good luck. Not responsible for what happens next! Make good choices.

Thank you, it turns out that I can open it without the help of any tools. It only takes a little patience to open it, because there seems to be an adhesive part in the middle.

My G5 with the stock antenna sitting in my living room is receiving a site 20 miles away with approx -97 dBm signal that my SDS100, BCD325P2 and BCD996P2 could not receive with various directly connected antennas. I can receive it on the scanners with an outside antenna with an antenna amplifier.

I also can occasionally receive a site 70 miles away. So it seems to be working quite well.
