Dave..
I have mp3 files for just about all departments in Nassau County.

Is there a real easy and quick way to blast through them and grab the tones??
About how long does it take to do? (I would love to go through each posting on the "Official Tone-out Discussion"...but honestly..there is a lot there!). Just looking to cut to the chase, and get this done!

Thanks

No easy and quick way that I know of. You'd have to open each recording in a program that can read mp3 files and that offers an audio frequency measurement function.

Most programs can give an approximation of the audio frequency, which then must be compared to standard tone listings in order to determine the actual tones being sent.

I thought Merrick fd B tone was 1500?? I have had tone outs with this. Have they changed?? Also want to thank YOU for being interested in posting these tones as those of us with the 396 would like to enjoy this feature of the radio.

I edited the tones to the nearest standard listing, which in that case is Plectron.

Just to clarify, Garden City Fire doesn't operate on 46.100. Their main frequency is 154.815 (which was changed from 154.040 a couple of years back). Their fireground frequency is 153.845, not 154.845 which is incorrectly listed in the RR database. This was confirmed by me at a working fire. I don't have the tone out info, however.

Garden City Park Fire is dispatched on 46.100 by Firecomm.
