250d, you need to start previewing your posts before sending them. Also, if there is problem, please try and be a bit more civil about your post. This above post only makes sense if people are familiar with your style of writting.

As for the actual problem, it is apparent that matt_to_the_rescue20 has a connection problem and is probably not even aware that he is connecting and disconnecting from the chat room. Since no one else is there, why don't you just ignore it and move to the RR Tavern Chat Room?

Ok, Its my comp then. Its says that a user named Duditz511 is already signed in, so I cant get in. I have never used it before so I know nothing about it.

That would be you. When you bring it up, you log in. If you look on the "Home" page of the site, it will tell you if anyone else is in the room. Of course this whole topic got started becasue matt_to_the_rescue2002 has the general chat room tied up right now.

Okay, Lou, I clickewd on the Let's Go link for the tavern chat. It showed that I was chatting, but there's no javascript popup or another window opening in which to chat. What am I overlooking?

I am not sure. When I go to the site "Home" page and click on one of the chat rooms (links on right) then I move to the screen that contains the two chat rooms (where that "Lets Go" link is) but I also get a pop-up that looks like this (only a little larger):

Hey, I still cant get in the chatroom and I dont know what to do. When I click Lets go it says: A user with the same IP address is in the chat room right now and to wait 180 seconds til I can get back in but 180 seconds later I cant get back in.

if you have a pop-blocker; disable it. most pop-blockers, like mine, prevent java and such from opening. thats what i had to do.

Ok, I just turned off all my popup blockers and it says the same thing.

You should not have to press the "Lets Go" link when you first choose a chat room from the link on the Home Page. If you don't get a Pop-Up with the chat room there, check your browser/software settings. Pressing the "Lets Go" link for a chat room in which you are already registered will result in that message about you already being there.

No joy. I have javascript opened up and every protection turned off and no popup.

I guess I'll stick to real IRC for chatting.

No need to start a whole server - just a channel on an existing network. I used to maintain a scanner channel on DALnet, but I haven't been there in a while.

I tried using the contact information that his profile provided to alert him of the situation
