• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I wonder how many more times someone can mention the Chevron case in this thread? I believe this makes 6 or 7.

The FCC wont dare issue a NAL when the "rule" is vague and undecided by congress....and when a Federal Magistrate would be forced to dismiss it at the district court level.

Otherwise all arguments here are moot.
The court said congress must decide.
Congress is going to have their hands full fixing laws as a result of Chevron for the next 100 years.

I doubt the commission would issue a NAL for linking given the SCOTUS issues Chevron creates for the FCC's in-house legal staff.

The Communications Act of 1934 and subsequent legislation all passed by Congress and signed into law by the President give the FCC the authority to make rules regulating telecommunications in the U.S. I you want to challenge that authority, bring money and hire an attorney...several of them.

Correct. For simplex or a singular repeater as spelled out in part 95. Not a linked multicast system of multiple repeaters linked together. Why is this such a hard concept to grasp?
Thanks for putting words in my mouth. Very rude....

Your assumption is wrong, they are in three different places 50-100 miles away, but you know everything. You're just pissed off because Verizon made you turn off you 20 year old CDMA phone and want to use GMRS in place so the rules should be changed just for you. I get it now.
You sort of have me living rent free in your head. Not comfortable with that. Smells bad...

I think we've milked this as much as possible for now. When something actually happens I'm sure someone will post about it.

"Radio check on 575 (and 550 and 600 and 625 and 650 and 675 and 700 and 725 all at once)".
