I'm looking at the section for Boston and the surrounding areas in an attempt to program my PSR-500 for when I'm in town. I barely have a handle on how the NS TMR works, but I was expecting the same from Boston PD. It looks to me however that they just use plan old 400 mhz radios with no CCs, trunking or all the other stuff I'm still learning. Is that true? Should I just need to put a bunch of CONV channels in the list on RadioReference to be able to hear Boston PD? Seems too good to be true after learning about NS's system :D

Just took a quick glance at data-base. BPD & BFD looks like straight conventional uhf systems.
So I'll say yes.
Did the 500 come with any "pre-programed" systems?
If so, you may already have it in the scanner.

Appreciate the replies guys, I've programmed NB RCMP, Maine State Police, Bangor PD/Fire, Logan/Maine Intl and Boston PD/Fire.. V-Scanner folders rock.

-Yes the scanner came with pre-programmed stuff, starting in Quebec and going West though.. Grr.
I had it programmed and then reprogrammed anyway.
