After being loyal to RS for many years, the new 996 is just too incredible to pass up! I have been reading the threads here and looking at the capabilities and am impressed beyond words! I have a DIN mounted 2055 in my truck now, and as soon as I am able to it will be replaced with the 996. I just replaced my central air system in my home and paid for my daughters wedding on Saturday so I am tapped out at the moment! Does anyone (dealers) carry Uniden that finances by chance?

Thats what I'm thinking too. I was just hoping for a good rate if I do get it now on credit. I prefer to save up, but really want this radio! I got the nickname with the old "pull my finger" gag!

Your going to love the 996. I wish this one had been around when I first started to listen to trunked radio systems, back when the only option was to plug in all the frequencies and try to catch the action conventionally.
