Pretty much your only scanner choice is the Uniden SDS100/200 for simulcast. Location and elevation will dictate how far you can receive. For P25 NJICS for instance, you will most surely get Site 17 (Passaic County) since you are in the simulcast. And you may get Site 1 (Essex County) but no way to know till you know.

What do you mean by test? A SDS200 should receive either simulcast or conventional trunked well and is the only choice other than the SDS100 or SDR. Distance from the tower or tall obstacles are your only other concerns.

I just got my sds200 with three county's question when it is scanning where Is the hold button

From the SDS200 Owner's Manual, page 13....

HOLDING A SYSTEM, DEPARTMENT, SITE, OR CHANNEL While scanning, you can hold on a system, department, site, or channel by pressing its associated soft key.

System Hold: Soft key 1
Department Hold: Soft key 2
Site Hold: F+Soft key 2
Channel Hold, Soft key 3
Note: If you hold on a channel that is in a trunked system, all enabled sites are still scanned for that channel activity.
