Hey all, I'm still getting the hang of the location settings. Circle vs Rectangle seems pretty straight forward, but can't seem to get the Rectangle one to work.

Are the points for the northwest corner then the southeast?

Are you doing it manually?

This is what it looks like in @ProScan which can take the circle and convert it automatically. Can even pull up on a map and make adjustments.

Yes - the 'bounding box" is NW and SE corners.
Google "bounding box" to find a number of websites that can assist you with this.
And, yes, you can draw them in ProScan.

Use on-line tools like these:
Bounding Boxes for all US Counties
randymajors.org Research Hub

Pro hint:
Many jurisdictions are not perfect rectangles.
Instead of one big rectangle covering a lot more than what you want, you can have multiple rectangles for each entity, which, when they are added together can much better accurately define the exact border of the jurisdiction you are trying to define.

Did you turn location control on for the favorite list in question?
You can always post your favorite here and people can help troubleshoot it...

Keep in mind that on trunked systems, there is location data for both the departments and sites.

So true. Here is an example of multiple rectangles for one entity.

I've already been using the circle feature and working just fine.

I was asking about the rectangle setting.
