BCD436HP/BCD536HP: gps reconition

my bcd 436 hp stopped reconizing my my connected gps have checked fuse on gps is okay. is there any suggestions was working fine for a couple of weeks

My first reaction is to check all the connections - one may have become loose.

gps not reconized

i have a garmin gps18 purchased from radioworld in toronto it was working fine but now it does not show gps on screen and there is no serviceable parts on this gps so i am not sure if it is the gps or the radio the radio seems to be working alright

There is a glass fuse in the power plug for the GPS18. If you haven't checked yet, make sure that the fuse is ok. If it blew, the GPS will not power up (of course) and that could be causing your problem.

You might check with the vendor and see if there is some type of indicator light on the GPS unit which illuminates when operational. That might confirm it is getting power.

Also is the GPS getting a clear view of the sky when you attempt to use it? Sometimes these can be fussy if in a garage or something like that and not report a signal to the scanner. Thus the scanner doesn't think it is connected to a GPS.
