The Scanner is now shipping from GRE Distro, to scanner dealers across the USA.

Are you saying that you got yours from Hamstation already? I thought they weren't shipping until the 24th. I have one on pre-order from them but I would have requested expedited shipping if they are moving them the same time as everyone else.

I'm confused.

Got mine about an hour ago overnight from Scanners Unlimited (thank you Glenn as always, a pleasure doing business with you). Been playing with it already.

First issue. Loaded York county VA, it worked. Loaded VA STARS, it works (even better than the 96 or 396) Overwrote York County (or at least York is not scanning now, it is there and I haven't figured out how to get both to scan from the same scan list).

Time will tell.

Other problem (and I haven't tried on another computer yet), the CD won't open the owners manual (which has a different version number [1.7] than the version on the GRE site [1.9])

There is also some sample PC apps, but the CD is so slow, I haven't tried to open them up yet.

From what the manual says, you need to select the objet to scan and enable it. The "*" should mean it is selected to be scanned.

How could the CD be slow? Does your CDROM read it OK? Can you see the files from Windows explorer? The manual should be a PDF file just as it is on the GRE America web site. I would just get the latest one there and forget the one on the CDROM for the manual.

Just picked mine up two hours ago from Jeff at Hamstation. Will be this evening before I get time to play with it. Few channels loaded in it by Jeff sound very good. Anxious to here more digital SAFE-T comms hoping no machine gun affect...

If you use the *WILDCARD* as an object, save the Wildcard to a Scan List. Save the Wildcard TG to a TSYS Object. Then enable the Scan List # with the TGs you saved.
