Anyone know of a source of a compatible 9v supply? I have an old RS 9v power supply that I use with my RS Pro-97 but the plug doesn't fit into the GRE box.

You could find the right size plug on maybe ebay, and buy it and cut your end off of your current 9v supply. Solder it on and there you go. Otherwise check this one for $10 https://www.whistlergroup.com/usa/shop-online/scanner-accessories.html
That one has the wrong connector and the wrong polarity...
I think the size tip you need is 5.5mm. Also, the center pole should be negative, harder to find. This is assuming the GRE amp the goes on the top of your hand held.
This one should work, have all the tips, adjustable voltage and I am sure adjustable polarity:

... I still use mine every day after many, many years... Rat Shack gives away detachable plugs with their power supply's... any size and reversible... it plugs in with 2 prongs...
Hey Bob! Are you referring to the power supply I linked above? The 2 prongs are on the power supply I linked so you can swap the tips.
At first I thought you meant the 2 prongs were on the GRE amp. Just clarifying in case anyone else was confused like me LOL. (I'm old and easily confused these days)

... didn't open the link... it's the tip that has the prongs... I got that power supply from Rat Shack over 20 years ago... I've had that GRE super amplifier at least that long... use it on one of my scanners every day....
