I tried a new repeater tonight, 146.620 it is the UARC repeater on Farnsworth Peak. I live in Layton at the border of Layton and Clearfield. I got on the repeater with my HT and "rubber duck" running 5 Watts and made a contact down in Lehi. The other party and I had great reception! We could hear each other loud and clear as if we were talking locally on the repeater closest to me 147.040 the DCARC repeater on Antelope Island. This is getting pretty cool as I learn more about this hobby and service of amateur radio...

If you have UHF, get on 449.425 (- offset with a tone of 100) It is usually connected to the IRLP Western Reflector and you can talk to hams all over the world.
