I have a Pro 96, how do I enter the 154.7025 freq to monitor? Do I enter it regular or what? Thanks

Are you using Win96? If so, import the GA Dept. of Public Safety into a bank. They will show up as FM. Since the 96 doesn't do NAC you won't have to program that in. The scanner will still hear the transmissions. Used the 96 and a commercial radio to listen to the GSMNP P-25 system. 96 works great on non trunked digital.

I programed the DPS frequencies via Win96 and it works good. Heard GSP Villa Rica and Cartersville posts assisting Carroll Co this morning in Carroll Co-South Paulding Co. area with a chase of some armed subjects wearing body armor, and reported shots fired.

Too bad I cannot get a decent digital signal downtown atlanta when monitoring Atlanta Police. I mean, that is why I bought the scanner to listen while I am at work downtown. I wished I would have saved and got a BCD396XT or Homepatrol !!!

Glad you can hear the GSP. Poor reception on simulcast systems and the lack of trunking on 380MHz and 700MHz was why the Pro-106 and PSR-500 came out.
Don't know how the HP-1 works in the ATL, but I know my 106 and 396XT do great.

GSP

Just an affirmation that this past weekend, GSP on I-85 in Coweta (Newnan Post) was operating on 154.7025 NAC 625. It was a repeated frequency as I heard both dispatch and the mobile unit. Was driving and didn't have a chance to find the input frequency.

I hear the 'trbo noise when I try to listen on the digital GSP frequencies. ....Are some locations using a format other than P25?

It is not TRBO. It is P-25 encryption. What frequencies are you hearing it on?

Yeah, I am also hearing what sounds like TRBO transmissions on the 154.7025. I have a PSR-800 and it sounds completely different than P25 encryption on the NSA P25 system on Fort Gordon and the P25-II on Columbia County's system. It could be data, maybe from their MDTs.

From my trip in Feb., copied voice in the clear on .7025 P-25 with the NAC I posted in Feb. Can't tell if it still is. I live north of there.

Interestingly, when these transmissions come across the scanner is not showing DG, like it does on other digital freqs. I am thinking these are data transmissions. It's not populating FM or NFM either.

I understand from a reliable source that GSP will not be encrypted.

I believe the freqs are transferring incorrectly from the site. I just confirmed that the transmissions are displaying as FM. I will reprogram as digital and advise
