This has been happening a lot recently. Twice per minute as if it were a beacon. No voice, no MDT data. Scanning is troublesome with this going on.

None of the other posts on around me seem to are doing it and they're all conventional as well. GSP and DPS radios start with 477 on conventional and this source has never been seen before. @MTS2000des would you happen to know what it is?
I would post in the Motorola forum but it would be rather vague towards figuring it out as it seems to be an isolated incident.

I have zero idea what that is, and I know nothing about how their infrastructure is setup. I know they use Midland repeaters, that is only because I saw the Troop C machine at 2 Peachtree when I was up there 3 years ago...

I think that's channel release. There's a delay when keying up a conventional repeater so kerchunks may not show a group call but the channel release is still sent. I see similar messages on the local P25 repeaters. My experience is with mixed-mode Quantars, I don't know if there's delays with pure digital or other manufacturers' repeaters.

For conventional P25, is there still control like a trunked system to block the non-whitelisted ID when the input detects and unauthorized user?

"Car to Car" (154.905) has a noticable "beacon" of what sounds like a data burst, in the middle Georgia area. Quite annoying.

I'll keep an eye on it but I haven't heard anything on there in a long time unless I don't get the reception.

Does Troop C still use 155.910 Analog?

Back in the 90's, I heard a trooper key up on it and state he was at the Florida line. It sure did get out (pre-narrowbanding)

I've noticed it few weeks ago on the 155.46 Perry GSP repeater. Also noticing as well that sometimes I hear GSP troopers talking to each other on 155.46 but it sounds like its off in the distance when they talk to each other.
