I've been going through some of my frequencies over the last several months and it would appear that I have not heard any activity on some of the taxi, school buses, and delivery/courier companies. I have done a thorough Google search on many of these businesses and most still appear to be in business. However, some have either closed up shop and no longer seem to exist,. at least on the internet.

This mainly applies to the Toronto area in addition to Peel and Halton. I have been submitting database submissions accordingly and leaving my scanners on record for weeks on end with no traffic on specific business listed in the database. such as some I've mentioned.

I know quite a few have moved to wide area systems or some sort of tablet/PTT system. I am curious about some of the Taxi companies, Brinks, and some concreate companies.

I thought I would keep this little task open to any members who are interested in chiming in on the off chance some companies that are not active on their licensed frequency still use it from time to time.

Beck is one of the few that are active. Their Central dispatch freq., however I haven't heard it in years. I believe that one is repeatered and the rest are duplex.

The only other schoolbus one I have as active is listed under Maloron RCC in Richmond Hill. I assume it's First Student, based on a Google search, they talk about an office in Richmond Hill and Newmarket. It seems to be the dispatch between the drivers and the office.

I only get buzzing using the Brinks frequencies listed, I assume they've gone digital.

It looks like Good Shepherd is no longer using the frequencies assigned, per TAFL. I also don't hear them at all lately.

I got a hit on Scarboro Taxi yesterday when I was out in Mel Lastman Square, so I assume those frequencies work.

I kept getting hits on the ATIS from Pearson on 120.825 MHz and 133.100 MHz too, the 133 one was much clearer. You usually don't hear them that far out, so that was fun.

You can seem to pull in the Buffalo NWS weather station (Channel 1, but I don't remember the frequency) if you point your antenna the right way. That's fun to hear.
