I'm not surprised you didn't receive a response. I'm a 32-year resident of Westfield and the overall city and county government leadership in Hamilton County has become more "elitist" over time, especially the past 10 years.
I am going to send another email from my business email that is in Hamilton County and see if I can get at least one reply. Not one response.
Can I talk to you about encryption? I'm writing a story for IndyStar. 317 444-6418.Not one response.

The reason they said for going encrypted was to comply with the July 1 state law. Here we are July 18 and still in the clear...guess that was just a convenient reason.
SSN..wow, haven't heard one used on the radio in YEARS! Maybe the last 4 just to confirm a warrant, but never the whole SSN... Wonder if its because the SSN can't be ran for anything anymore???
Hello! My name is Jasmine, I am a journalist for the Arnolt Center for Investigative Journalism. I was wondering if there were any avid listeners of police scanners in Indiana that would like to do an email or phone interview with me on your thoughts about encrypted police radios. We are doing a story and we need some people who are willing to speak up on the subject whether they are for or against it!All Hamilton County Law Enforcement (primary dispatch) is going encrypted in the first half of 2023.
They will be encrypted in the next week or so. My point was the initial reason for encryption (State Law July 1) must not be valid if they are still in the clear near the end of July.So if they're still not encrypted what is it that you are complaining about? Are you complaining just to complain?

No need to apologize IMHO.I apologize. I just love to discuss/debate everything scanner/radio communications.
My only comment other than "Here we go again 🙄" would be: Does the DB reflect that change?Hamilton County Law Enforcement is now encrypted.
Old TGs now car-car?New talk groups are showing up, too (29271, 29272, 29273, 29275).
At least fire is (still) in the clear...
