Hancock County schools

I was wondering if anyone monitors Hancock County schools locally? I noticed they appear to be no longer on Futronics but maybe on Lauttamus T3? Someone added a new talkgroup for them on T3.

Has anyone heard them on T3? If so, is it on Weirton tower or East Liverpool tower or both? I have tried to monitor for them but haven’t picked them up yet and stopped hearing them on Futronics. I know the board approved new radio upgrades in January and Lauttamus won the bid over two other companies but not too many other details on what was approved unfortunately.

I can be on either tower. ALL traffic isn't guaranteed to be on just one tower. It all depends on location of the radios. Definitely it is heard on Lauttamus T3, and definitely it has been monitored on both ELO and Weirton towers.

I will have to try and monitor more close after the New Year to pick them up since my work schedule won't allow me too before they go on Christmas break.

I seem to be missing transmissions but I am not sure if it is my setup or if it is going to a different tower and I am too far away? I live up on a hill outside New Cumberland (near the highway barn). I will hear like New Manchester to 102 and 102 says go ahead and then nothing. I have tried just a plan scan of talkgroups and there doesn't seem to be any others for Hancock. Everything seems to come in clear with Brooke schools on their talkgroups on the system. So is Hancock transmissions bouncing from one tower to another so I am missing the rest of the transmission? I have an SDS100.

They could be. It is possible that they are hitting the East Liverpool tower. And if they are, you might not catch them all if you are monitoring the Weirton tower. I'm pretty sure with TIII DMR systems you aren't guaranteed to hear all radio traffic for a talkgroup even if one or more radios are using the site you are monitoring.

Thank you for the information. I have East Liverpool, Weirton and Bridgeport towers selected. Someone told me they hear them on the Bridgeport tower more than the other towers which I was kind of surprised with since that is farther away. I guess I could try and remove the delay I have when there is a transmission to see if I hear more of the other side of the conversation.

Though it did seem better yesterday afternoon when they all were trying to avoid weather and update each other on road conditions.

There also could be more frequencies they have that have not been found yet for the repeaters
