My wife and I are fully inoculated now and have a lot of trips planned this year. We will be in northern Michigan several times, Iowa, Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard. I got a CCradio 3 last week and of course I want to take the it with me. But it is an expensive radio and I worry about damaging it. Found a Pelican knockoff at Harbor Freight, the Apache 3800 so I got one for the radio for $43. It would also be perfect for the EP Pro and the CCradio 2.

Love your case, of course it is your standard handgun carrying case but certainly could modify it to carry accessories by off setting the radio itself. Just use an exacto knife and make the space for accessories.

Always enjoy seeing these radios and it reminds me of Art Bell when he was sponsored by CC Radio years ago.

Enjoy your travels, time to get back to normal and the past. ;) (y)

I wonder if you were to off-set the radio in the foam a little bit if you could make room for an extra set of "D" cells?
I thought about that and also considered leaving room for my Logitec headphones. But I wanted the best protection for the rig so I opted to space the foam just for the radio. The only way I could see to have batteries in with the radio was to get the next bigger size box and I did not want to do that.

Hi, NFR, I saw a reaction from you and it recorded on my site and then it was gone so I wasn't sure if you even got my post, I like your case and recommend that you use an exacto knife to cut out sections for accessories, the same way you would do for a gun case which I believe this is. Good luck on your travels... Bob.

Many years ago I put together a larger version of what you've done here. I spent many hours figuring out how to get all my gear in there and thinking in three dimensions was key. I had a couple pieces where they were stacked (my case was a lot deeper), with a smaller piece living below a larger one so the foam could provide support for both.
