• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Okay so I've been happily programming my xg-100p the last few months and putting a nice CA state load in a few mission plans.. I've had this alert come up a few times (invalid channel in scan list) and I've been able to work through it more than once.. but it feels like I'm not changing anything and it keeps fixing itself. Of course that's not happening, I am changing something to fix it.. I just don't know what it is. What am I doing! Hahahaha any thoughts would be appreciated.

TLDR:
Invalid channel in scan list, what causes it, and how is it fixed?

ima take a shot in the dark, is the one of your channels in your custom scan list but not checked off as a scan channel in your freq sets?
So.. I too thought this was the issue but I checked my programming and that System/freq set does not have a custom scan list to begin with.

Not sure if this is the problem or not but I’ve seen a similar situation happen recently. Is your radio wideband enabled? If not, double check to make sure all your conventional channel sets are set to narrowband. If a channel is set to wideband and is set to scan on a narrowband only radio it will not like it and set off that alert.

Oh interesting, the radio is wideband enabled. I'll double check the mission plan.

Make sure you don’t have a setting enabled that requires a feature your radio doesn’t have

Because you have a error in your channel settings usually using the RPM. Usually it's a wide/narrow band settings. Also on a XG 100 if you have a wideband feature...and you insert a 70 cm frequency it will default to narrow and invalid channel if you make it a wide channel.
